Qwitz Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Qwitz app and website (together, "Qwitz"). Qwitz is provided by Jonatan De Vooght, an individual developer based in Belgium ("we", "us"). By using Qwitz you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Qwitz.
1. What Qwitz is (and isn't)
Qwitz helps friends and groups record shared expenses, see who owes whom, and keep track of settlements. Qwitz is not a bank, payment institution or financial advisor. It does not hold, transfer or process money between users. Any payment between users happens outside Qwitz, for example through your own bank. You and the people you share costs with are responsible for checking balances and settling debts. Amounts, currency conversions and AI-read receipt data may contain errors. Always check them.
2. Accounts
You can use Qwitz as a guest or sign in with Apple, Google or email. You are responsible for your account and for the information you add, including information about other people. Only add other people's details, such as their name, email or bank details, if you are allowed to. You must be at least 16 years old to use Qwitz.
Account security. You are responsible for keeping your account and sign-in details secure and for all activity under your account. Please notify us promptly at supportqwitz@gmail.com if you notice any unauthorized use.
3. Qwitz Pro subscriptions
- Some features, such as unlimited AI receipt scanning, need Qwitz Pro. Free users get a limited number of AI scans per month (currently 3).
- Qwitz Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. It is billed through your Apple ID at the price shown before you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions).
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
- If we offer a free trial, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription, where applicable.
- We may change features or prices. Price changes will apply only to future billing periods, and Apple will notify you as its rules require.
- Nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory rights as a consumer under EU or Belgian law.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: - use Qwitz for anything illegal, fraudulent or to harass others - upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that is unlawful or harmful - try to access other users' data, break security, reverse-engineer the service, or overload it, for example with automated scanning to get around the limits - use Qwitz to launder money or to make it look like payments were made when they weren't
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Your content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of the content you add or upload, such as expenses, photos and receipts. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process that content only to provide Qwitz, as described in our Privacy Policy. The Qwitz app, name, branding and software remain the property of Jonatan De Vooght (the developer) or his licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to them beyond using the app.
6. Availability and changes
Qwitz is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, pause or stop features at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of major changes.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or losses caused by wrong amounts, calculation or conversion errors, AI scan mistakes, disputes between users, or service outages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Qwitz Pro in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Termination
You can stop using Qwitz and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Please cancel that in your Apple ID settings.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes go to the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to the mandatory protections you have as a consumer in your EU country of residence. The European Commission's online dispute resolution information is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
10. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Qwitz or its content. Apple's Standard EULA also applies to your use of the app, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
